What is a "pressure-balancing" tub and shower?
A pressure-balancing tub or shower balances incoming hot and cold water pressure to compensate for water flow fluctuations. Balancing the water flow keeps temperatures constant and comfortable, within ±3°F of the original temperature setting, despite other demands such as flushing the toilet or starting the washing machine.

When should I use a pressure balance valve (PBV) or thermostatic valve?
US plumbing codes dictate that showers be constructed with either a pressure balance valve or a thermostatic valve.  Both valves are safe to use, and your decision should be based on what your needs are. Pressure balance valves are most commonly used in guest bathrooms or bathrooms with smaller shower systems.  The temperature needs to be adjusted each time you use the shower. Thermostatic valves are a better solution especially when more water flow is needed.  With this type of valve, you can select the temperature and the valve keeps the mixed water temperature constant. Each time you turn on your valve it automatically adjusts to the preset desired temperature.

How do I clean my faucet?
When cleaning and polishing your faucet, we recommend using nonabrasive dish soap and water. It's always best to use water and a soft cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners, sponges, acids or other solvents.

What Is the Prop 65 Warning Label?
Proposition 65 (Prop 65), officially known as the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, was enacted as a ballot initiative in November 1986. The proposition protects the state's drinking water sources from being contaminated with chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and requires businesses to inform Californians about exposures to such chemicals. GRAFF includes a Prop 65 label on products shipping to California to inform residents that a product contains chemicals on the State of California's Prop 65 list. This does not mean the product is unsafe. All GRAFF products meet or exceed the regulated industry standards, as well as the federal Safe Drinking Water Act.

What is Sleek-Stone®?
Sleek-Stone® is a stone composite material comprised of 75% dolomitic minerals bonded with a unique resin to produce a naturally beautiful and durable material. Dated over 500 million years, dolomite can be found around the world, specifically in The Dolomites, a mountain range in northeastern Italy and part of the Italian Alps. After extensive research, GRAFF employed state-of-the-art casting technology and artisanal processes to create sophisticated products designed to endure on the molecular level.

How durable is Sleek-Stone®?
Sleek-Stone® is made from high-quality materials making it scratch resistant, stain resistant, UV resistant, surface abrasion resistant, impact resistant and thermal shock resistant. These properties, along with being nonporous, allow for easy maintenance and a long-lasting product.

What finishes and colors are available for your bathtubs and sinks?
Sleek-Stone® is available in gloss or matte white finishes.

Are Sleek-Stone® surfaces repairable?
Sleek-Stone® is scratch resistant, however for small scratches a 400-grit sandpaper and water can be used on the matte finish and a polishing compound similar to those used for automobiles can be used on the gloss finish. GRAFF also offers a repair kit for deeper scratches. See GRAFF's repair instruction video.

How can I clean my Sleek-Stone® bathtub or sink?
Sleek-Stone® is easy to clean and maintain. Surfaces should be regularly cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner. Abrasive cleaning products should not be used including products containing soda lye, acetone, methanol or various agents containing dye.
